Daily life in the city. Born in the big city of Amsterdam, I learned to love canals and the houses with their special facades. In 2022 I started au plein air painting a small cityscape that I worked out in the studio. But after the challenge of recreating Vermeer's second street, I really got the taste.

Life is a period of being on the move, development and growth. During the course of life, you experience a lot of experiences as a person. In this collection I paint about various aspects of life, which are far-reaching. Themes such as life and death hope and love and loss play a major role in these works.

Nature offers so much beauty. Landscapes are a rewarding subject for working out depth and perspective. Sunlight turns the elements into so many colours. Sometimes with and sometimes without people in it. People have a personal relationship with the place where they are. I love being outdoors, and I want to show this.

A percentage of the proceeds of this work goes to HOPEHIV projects. Next paintings created are inspired by my visit to South Africa October 2008
